Abstract

Sialoliths
are the most common disease of the salivary glands which the obstruction of a
salivary gland or its excretory duct by a calculus. They occur in any ages and
mostly submandibular salivary glands.
Minor salivary glands
and sublingual gland are rarely affected. Sizes range from 1 to 10 mm.
Sialoliths are diagnosed by conventional radiographic techniques,
ultrasonography, sialography, magnetic resonance imaging and computerized
tomography in addition to clinic examination. Large sialoliths should be
removed surgically as they may cause partial or complete obstruction of the
salivary gland duct. This case report aims to present the conventional
radiological and ultrasonographic findings of a sialolith in Warthon's duct

of
a male patient who applied to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology,
Atatürk University, Faculty of Dentistry.

Submandibular Tükürük Bezi Taşı: Bir Olgu Sunumu

Year 2018, CASE REPORT SPECİAL ISSUE, 23 - 28, 30.07.2018

Abstract

Sialolitler,
radyografi teknikleri, ultrasonografi, sialografi, manyetik rezonans
