Abstract
Timomalar timik epiteliyal hücrelerden köken alır. Genellikle benign veya düşük gradeli tümörler olup malign potansiyel de gösterebilir. Erişkinlerde en sık görülen primer mediastinal tümör olup, erişkinlerdeki mediastinal kitlelerin %20’sini oluşturur1,2. Timomalar, primer kitle olarak da genellikle anterior-süperior mediastenden köken alır3. Ancak boyundan diyaframa kadar herhangi bir lokalizasyonda olabilirler. Timomalar bazen de mediasten dışında servikal bölgede, perikardiyak alanda ya da akciğer içerinde ektopik olarak yerleşim gösterebilirler. Ve hatta ektopik timomalar intrapulmoner odak dışında akciğer periferinde, akciğer hilusunda da bulunabilir4. Biz bu yazıda mediastinal timus ile bağlantısı olmayan ektopik yerleşimli 3 adet timoma olgusunun bulgularını paylaşmayı amaçladık.
