Abstract

COVID-19 and Male Reproductive Health

Year 2020, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 2 - 4, 02.11.2020

Abstract

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus - 2 (SARS-CoV-2) spread from Wuhan province of China and caused a global pandemic. Although the virus primarily affects the respiratory tract, studies on its effects on the urogenital system are present. The presence of the SARS-CoV2 virus in semen, sexual transmissibility, and impact of this virus on sperm quality is still uncertain. Several studies have examined men recovering from COVID-19, but large-scale community-based testing is needed to ascertain the effects on the male reproductive tract, and the potential for transmission way. With this article, we aimed to compile the effects of COVID-19 on reproductive health.
