Pandemilerin Şafağında: COVID-19 ve Fiziksel İnaktivite

Year 2020, Volume: 5 Issue: 2, 143 - 146, 30.06.2020

Abstract

Abstract

As the measures against the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) increase, people have necessarily started to have a more sedentary lifestyle. In particular, curfew restrictions and stay-at-home calls increase physical inactivity, which is already a pandemic. This situation adversely affects conditions such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, which are caused by physical inactivity and are also risk factors for mortality in COVID-19. Therefore, the prescription and implementation of appropriate physical activity programs are very important. This review has been prepared with the current evidence on the anti-inflammatory and supporting the immune system properties of physical activity and studies related to the COVID-19 process. In this review, appropriate suggestions have been made for people who will begin to exercise and go through the physical activity program under the COVID-19 conditions.

Keywords: Coronavirus, physical activity, exercise.
