Bu çalışmada sağlık çalışanları ile hastaların tütün ürünlerine ilişkin görüşlerinin değerlendirilmesi ve bu görüşlerin karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel olarak hazırlanan çalışmanın örneklemini bir devlet hastanesinde görevli 124 sağlık çalışanı ile bu hastanede tedavi gören 276 hasta oluşturmaktadır. Veriler sosyo-demografik bilgileri içeren bilgi formu ve tütün kullanımına ilişkin soruların yer aldığı anket formu ile yüz yüze toplanmıştır. Çalışmanın veri analizinde SPSS 25 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularında sağlık çalışanlarının %33.1’inin her gün sürekli sigara kullandığı, hastaların ise %4.7’sinin hiç sigara kullanmadığı belirlenmiştir. Sigara içme / içmeme açısından toplum için rol model olma durumu incelendiğinde sağlık çalışanlarının %52.4’ü “evet” cevabını verirken, hastaların %50.4’ü “hayır” cevabını vermiştir. Türkiye’de uygulanan kapalı alanlarda sigara içme yasağının devamı konusunda ise sağlık çalışanlarının %66.9’u, hastaların ise %7.5’i “yasak aynen devam etmeli” cevabını vermiştir. Çalışma sonucuna göre erkeklerin kadınlara oranla; sağlık çalışanlarının da hastalara oranla daha fazla tütün ürünü kullandığı ifade edilebilir. Sağlık çalışanlarına ve hastalara yönelik tütün ürünlerinin zararları konusunda bilinçlendirme eğitimleri yapılmalıdır. Sigara bırakma teşvik programları ve kamu spotları artırılmalıdır.
This study aimed to evaluate the opinions of health professionals and patients about tobacco products and compare these opinions. The descriptive and cross-sectional study sample consists of 124 healthcare professionals working in a state hospital and 276 patients treated in this hospital. The data were collected face-to-face with an information form containing socio-demographic information and a questionnaire containing questions about tobacco use. SPSS 25 package program was used in the data analysis of the study. It was determined that 33.1% of the healthcare workers used to smoke daily, and 45.7% of the patients did not smoke at all. When being a role model for society regarding smoking / non-smoking is examined, 52.4% of the healthcare professionals answered "yes", while 50.4% of the patients answered "no". Regarding the continuation of the indoor smoking ban in Turkey, the answer given by 66.9% of healthcare professionals and 7.5% of patients is "the ban should continue as the same way". According to the results of the study, men compared to women; It can be stated that healthcare professionals use more tobacco products than patients. Awareness-raising trainings should be given to health workers and patients about the harms of tobacco products. Smoking cessation incentive programs and public service announcements should be increased.
