Abstract

Objective
Sepsis is a life-threatening organ failure caused by the
host's irregular response to infections. In order to better
diagnose and treat sepsis, it is not enough to just define
and understand its pathophysiology. It is also important
to learn more about the experts' perception and attitude
towards the current diagnosis and treatment of sepsis.
Materials and Methods
The research was conducted with the participation of
40 healthcare professionals working in a public hospital.
The questionnaire form was created in two parts
based on the literature. Questionnaire forms were
applied by face to face interview method.
Results
Questionnaire forms of 40 physicians participating
in the study were evaluated. 60% of the participants
stated that sepsis is more deadly than other diseases,
65% of them stated that sepsis creates a significant
burden on the health system of our country, and
67.5% of them stated that it is difficult conditions that
physicians can treat. 45% of the physicians stated
that sepsis has an absolutely accepted definition in
our country. While 50% expressed the definition created
as a result of the concessions about sepsis, 75%
stated that sepsis was a systemic disease and fever
was the leading symptom. Also, they have stated;
37.5% of them were worried about the lack of a common
definition of sepsis, and 47.5% of them that the
lack of a common definition of sepsis caused the sepsis
not to be diagnosed, and that having a common
definition for sepsis in global sense may be important
in treatment (47.5%).
Conclusion
Three conclusions can be drawn from the analysis
of the data; Physicians may have some deficiencies
in sepsis management, sepsis definitions are insufficient,
and sepsis poses an important problem for the
health system.

SAĞLIK PROFESYONELLERİNİN SEPSİS HAKKINDAKİ BİLGİ VE ALGILARININ ARAŞTIRILMASI

Abstract

Anket formu
literatüre dayalı olarak iki bölümde oluşturuldu. Anket
formları yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi kullanılarak uygulandı.
Bulgular
Çalışmaya katılan 40 hekimin anket formları değerlendirildi.
Katılımcıların %60’ı sepsisin diğer hastalıklara
göre daha ölümcül olduğunu, %65’inin sepsisin
ülkemizin sağlık sistemi üzerine önemli bir yük oluşturduğunu,
%67,5’inin hekimin tedavi edebileceği en
zor koşullar arasında olduğunu ifade ettikleri saptanmıştır.
Hekimlerin %45’i ülkemizde sepsisin kesinlikle
kabul edilmiş bir tanımı olduğunu belirtmiştir. %50’si
sepsis ile ilgili yapılan konsessuslar sonucu oluşturulan
tanımı ifade ederken, %75’i sepsisin sistemik bir
hastalık, ateşin ise en önde gelen belirti olduğu belirttiler.
Ayrıca, %37,5’i sepsisin ortak bir tanımının
olmamasından endişeli olduklarını, %47,5’i sepsisin
ortak bir tanımının olmamasının sepsis tanısının konulamamasına
neden olduğunu, %47,5’i küresel anlamda
sepsis için ortak bir tanımın olmasının tedavide
önemli bir adım olabileceğini ifade ettiler.
Sonuç
Verilerin analizinden üç sonuç çıkarılabilir; hekimlerin
sepsis yönetiminde bazı eksiklikleri olabilir, sepsis tanımlamaları
yetersizdir, ve sepsis sağlık sistemi için
önemli bir problem oluşturmaktadır.
