Öz
It is known that Wet Cupping Therapy (WCT), one of the
complementary and traditional therapy applications, has therapeutic effect on
many diseases that are nonresponsive to conventional treatment. In this case
report, a rhythmic and generalized convulsion seizure characterized with
tonic-clonic movements after WCT was defined in the patient. The convulsion
occurred during scarification to DU14 point (C7 processus spinosus) just after
the WCT started. Vital findings of the patient before the WCT were stable and
blood parameters that were analysed were normal. He had no medical history. Some
complications such as syncope are reported during the WCT. However, because the
generalized convulsion was not within our knowledge this case is approved to
present.

Islak
kupa terapisi (IKT) geleneksel ve tamamlayıcı tedavi uygulamalarından biridir.
Terapötik etkiye sahip olduğu bilinen IKT’nin konvansiyonel tedaviye cevap
vermeyen birçok bozuklukta etkisi olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu olgu sunumunda, IKT sırasında
tonik-klonik hareketlerle karakterize ritmik, jeneralize konvülziyon atağı
geçiren hasta sunulmuştur. IKT uygulaması yapılırken, DU14 bölgesine (C7-processus
spinosus) skarifikasyon yapılırken jeneralize konvülziyon gerçekleşmiştir.
Hastanın IKT öncesi vital bulguları stabil, kan parametreleri normaldir. Ayrıca,
hastanın özgeçmişinde jeneralize konvülziyon ile uyumlu bulgu yoktur. Literatürde,
IKT esnasında senkop gibi bazı komplikasyonlar rapor edilmiştir ancak jeneralize
konvülziyonun bilgimiz dahilinde bulunmaması sebebiyle bu vakanın sunulması
uygun görülmüştür.
