MAVİ BÖLGELER: UZUN ÖMÜRLÜ İNSANLARIN ORTAK SIRLARI

Öz

Uzun ömürlülüğün daha yoğun olarak görüldüğü, ortalama yaşam beklentisinin yüksek olduğu bölgeler saptanmıştır. Bu bölgelerin yerini belirtmek için haritanın üzerinde mavi boyalarla işaretleme yapılması ile “Blue Zone” konsepti ortaya çıkmıştır. Uzun ömürlü insanların spesifik özellikleri ve yaşamlarının gidişatı ortaya çıkarılmak istenmektedir. Sardinya (İtalya): İlk keşfedilen ‘’blue zone’’bölgesidir. Blue Zone araştırmaları şu an için 5 bölgeyi(İkarya, Sardinya, Nikoya, Loma Linda, Okinawa) kapsamaktadır. ‘’Blue Zone’’lar obezite, diyabet, kanser ve kalp damar hastalıklarına yakalanmadan uzun ömürlülüğe ulaşmış bireylerin yoğun olarak bulunduğu bölgelerdir. Bu bölgede yaşayan insanların yaşamlarına hareket katmaları, varoluş nedenine sahip olmaları, stressiz bir yaşam sürmeleri, kalori kısıtlaması yapmaları, bitkisel temelli beslenmeleri, inanç temelli bir topluğa ait olmaları sağlıklarını olumlu etkilemektedir.
