Evaluation and Peer-Review Process

The peer review process goes with double blind method and the submitted papers are sent to two reviewers who do not recognize each other. Author(s) and reviewers can not reach information about any other of them. If there is an information about author(s) in manuscript, editors edit this file before sending to editors. The suggestions of reviewers are shared with corresponding author. If reviewer(s) decision occurs as “can be published after revision, correction or update”, the suggestions of reviewer(s) are delivered to corresponding author. After the updating and sending the manuscript by author, the editor(s) decide about publishing or rejecting the paper and inform the corresponding author

The manuscripts which sent by authors are processed for pre-assesment approximately 15 days and the editors inform the corresponding author about the status when needed. After the pre-assessment, editor(s) decide about forwarding the manuscript to peer-review process.

The typical period of time allowed for reviews: approximately 3 weeks

In a normal process, the decision about a manuscript may string out up to 6 months.

Manuscript can/may be modified by author according to revision suggestions after the editorial process.

Reviewers will have access to the submission file only after accepting to review it.

The referee (reviewer) revisions that mentioned in the algorithm below are "minor revisions". If any of the referees make a "major revision" decision for the article, the editors analyse the situation by evaluating the degree and applicability of the criticism / revisions and, they may reject the manuscript at this step.

However, even if there is a schematic algorithm below, editors have right to reject the manuscript in any of the steps of process because of some reasons like inadequate or absent revisions, disagreement between author(s) and editor(s), negative opinions or findings about manuscript for publishing after final assesment by editor(s). The rejection rights of editors in any step of the process are reserved and authors accept this if they send their manuscript for evaluation to the ESTUDAM Public Health Journal.

Under normal conditions, in all the articles that have been evaluated by the referees (reviewers), the referee opinions/corrections/revisions/suggestions are submitted to the author in accordance with the double-blind system, whether the article is accepted or rejected.

The peer-review algorithm is given below:
