Writing Rules
PREPARATION OF THE ARTICLE
The following formal principles must be followed in the manuscripts that are sent to the journal for publication.
Articles must be written in English or Turkish.
The entire text should be written in Times New Roman format with 12 points and one and a half lines spacing.
The title of the article should be appropriate and understandable to the content of the article. All titles should be in bold type.
Technical terms, symbols and abbreviations should be defined where they were first used in the article.
The length of the article, including all sources, tables and figures, should be at least 4 (four) and at most 15 pages.
All figures, graphics, photos and tables should be transferred to the relevant electronic media and given in the main text. Figures, graphics and photographs must be in JPG or TIFF format.
Handouts on individual or institutional financial support provided for research should be at the end of the article.
Original Article:
In this section contains, studies of basic or clinical investigations in Traditional and Complementary Medicine. These articles can include randomized controlled trials, observational studies, descriptive studies, diagnostic accuracy studies, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, non-randomized behavioral and public health intervention trials, experimental animal trials, or any other clinical or experimental studies. Requirements:
Authors: Maximum 8 (This rule does not apply to multi-center research)
Word count: 4000 (including abstract, references, tables and figure legends)
Abstract word limit: 300 words.
References: Maximum 30
Tables and Figures: A total of 6
Invited Review Article:
In this section contains comprehensive current articles examining national and international literature on Traditional and Complementary Medicine applications. The Journal of Traditional and Complementary Anatolian Medicine publishes only the invited review papers. Requirements for İnvited review article:
Authors: Maximum 5
Abstract word limit: 300 words.
Unstructured abstract: No subheadings are allowed
Word count: 4000 (including abstract, references, tables and figure legends)
References: Maximum 30
Tables and Figures: A total of 6
Main Text subheadings: Introduction, Conclusion, and Acknowledgements are mandatory. Other subheadings may be used upon the authors discretion.
Case Report:
This portion It should consist of brief explanations of clinical cases or complications which are rarely encountered in Traditional and Complementary Medicine practice and have educational value. Requirements for case report:
Authors: Maximum 5
Abstract word limit: 250 words.
Structured abstract subheadings: Introduction, Case Presentation(s), Conclusion
Main Text subheadings: Introduction, Case Presentation(s), Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements
Word count: 2000 (including abstract, references, tables and figure legends)
References: Maximum 15
Tables and Figures: A total of 3
Correspondence:
Opinions, comments and suggestions made concerning articles published in Journal of Traditional and Complementary Anatolian Medicine or other journals. Requirements for correspondence:
Authors: Maximum 2
No abstract is needed.
No subheadings are needed.
Word count: 1000 (including references)
References: Maximum 5
Tables and Figures: Not allowed
Tables:
Tables may be included in the manuscript file as separate pages after the References section, or may be uploaded separately as you prefer. Requirements for tables:
Data presented in the tables should not be included in its entirety in the text.
Tables must be numbered consecutively.
Each table should be placed in a new page.
Each table must be referred to in the text.
Number and Title of each Table should be written at the top of each page before the Table.
Figures:
Requirements for figures:
All illustrations (photographs, drawings, graphs, charts etc.), not including tables, must be labelled “Figure”.
The information contained in the figure/image should not be repeated in its entirety, however reference to the figure/image must be referred in the text.
No legends or titles should be included in the Figures.
During submission, all figures must be uploaded in a separate file from the text file and should be named accordingly (Figure1; Figure2, etc).
Pictures should be saved in JPEG, EPS or TIFF format.
Please submit photographs and figures with a resolution of at least 300 dots per inch.
Scanned or photocopied graphs and diagrams are not accepted.
References:
References should be formatted in AMA style (3 authors then "et al").
References should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text.
The sources in the text should be added as shown in the following examples at the end of the citation as a superscript with the arabic number.
- Diabetes mellitus is associated with a high risk of foot ulcers.1-3
- Several interventions have been successful at increasing compliance.11,14-16
- The data of Smith et al18 is further evidence of this effect.

Author names should be written in reverse order and only initials of the first and middle names without spaces.
Only the first word should be capitalized except in special abbreviations in the article headings in the Welder.
Abbreviations in Index Medicus should be used in journal titles.

At least 3 referee names and contact addresses (academic title, institution address, e-mail address, telephone number) related to the field should be indicated together with the Turkish letters sent to the journal. For English writings, 5 referee's names and contact addresses (academic title, institution address, e-mail address, telephone number) should be indicated, at least 2 different countries related to the field.
Manuscript Submission:
The Journal of Traditional and Complementary Anatolian Medical Journal accepts applications on-line from the web page of Dergipark system. The system includes directions at each step.
Evaluation of Article:
The evaluation process is confidential, and when the authors request to be informed about the status of the evaluation process, necessary information will be provided. The evaluation process of the articles submitted to the journal consists of 3 (three) stages.

Scientific and Ethical Responsibility:
Scientific responsibility of manuscripts belongs to authors. All authors must actively participate in the work. To be published in the magazine, it must have not been published in another scientific publication or submitted another journal. If the submitted text has already been presented at any meeting; The name of the meeting, the date and the city where it is organized. The protocol of researches on human and experimental animals must be approved by the relevant institution ethics committee.

According to the 1976 Copyright Act, all kinds of publication rights of the articles accepted for publication belong to the institution (or person) who publishes the journal. Statements and opinions expressed in the published material herein are those of the author(s). Manuscript writers are not paid by any means for their manuscripts.
