About the Ethics Committee Permission Certificate

As of 2020, the TR Index Journal Evaluation criteria have been updated and the articles related to the ethics committee permission, which should be especially in scientific research, have been detailed. Studies that require Ethics Committee Permission are listed below.

When uploading your study to our journal, you must also upload your Ethics Committee Document together with your article file. If your work is not included in the working group that requires ethics committee approval, you must sign the declaration form stating this situation and indicate the relevant situation in your article text.


Studies Requiring Ethics Committee Permission:


• All kinds of research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from the participants by using survey, interview, focus group work, observation, experiment, interview techniques,
• The use of humans and animals (including material/data) for experimental or other scientific purposes,
• Clinical studies on humans,
• Research on animals,
• Retrospective studies in accordance with the personal data protection law.

Important Information About Ethics Committee Permission:


• Indicating that "Informed Consent Form" was received in case reports,
• Obtaining and specifying permission from the owners for the use of scales, questionnaires, photographs belonging to others,
• Indication of compliance with copyright regulations for the intellectual and artistic works used,
• Retrospective ethics committee approval is not required for articles that have been used before 2020, produced from master's/doctoral studies (must be stated in the article), submitted an application for publication to the journal in the previous year, accepted but not yet published.
• Researchers who are not members of the university can also apply to the Ethics Committees in their regions.
• In articles to be published in journals, whether ethical committee permission and / or legal / special permission is required should be stated in the article. If it is necessary to obtain these permissions, it should be clearly presented from which institution, on what date and with what decision or number number.
• If the study requires the use of human and animal subjects, international declaration, guide, etc. should be declared appropriate.

Studies Requiring Ethics Committee Permission and Accepted for Publication:


In studies requiring ethics committee permission, information about the permission (name of the committee, date and number) should be given in the method section and should also be placed on the first/last page of the article.

QUESTION-1: Is ethics committee approval required for all articles?

No. In the criteria, it is stated as “articles that require the permission of the Ethics Committee”. Studies that require the approval of the Ethics Committee are as follows:
